Week 7 Update: #Walk100MilesChallenge

Hey All!

Since I’m rather far behind on most things related to my blog (oops!), I just posted my weeks 4-6 update for the #Walk100MilesChallenge. Surprisingly, I have already passed the 100 mile mark and hit 125.75 miles by the end of week 6. However, I decided to keep going with the challenge since I have been enjoying it. My next goal is to hit 200 miles!

It’s been a beautiful week here where I live. Unfortunately I didn’t get to walk as much as I wanted to but I did manage to get a few long walks in. I’ve also decided to start training for the Tely10 but I haven’t registered yet. I want to see if I’ll be around and if I am actually capable of doing it. Until then, let’s get on to the results for Week 7!




This Weeks Total: 26.98 miles

Week 6 total: 26.09 miles
Week 5 total: 22.17 miles
Week 4 total: 26.73 miles
Week 3 total: 18.09 miles
Week 2 total: 19.57 miles
Week 1 total: 13.08 miles

Grand total at the end of Week 7: 152.71 miles!

This is pretty awesome!! I’ve already managed to get almost 7 miles towards next week! It has definitely been that little bit of extra motivation that I needed to keep me going!

Weeks 4-6 Updates – #Walk100MilesChallenge

Hey All!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve sat down to write for my blog. The past few weeks have been busy with me going to visit my family during our week off for Easter/Spring break. I ended up going out to my hometown last weekend to pick up my Mom who is visiting while the boyfriend is on a work trip. Things have been keeping me rather busy and away from most social medias (other then a quick check on the cell phone if time permits).

However, I’m hoping after that little break that I will get a chance to sit down and beat out some blog posts. I’ve missed it!

However, today’s post is not an update one on the happenings in my life. Instead I am here to update you on the #Walk100MilesChallenge.

I’ve been keeping up with the walking and exercising the best I could, but to be honest I haven’t tracked it. I have left short comments about my progress with the ladies who are also completing the challenge, but nothing official. So along with you all, today is the first time I’m going to see some numbers as well!

Previous Data:
Week 3 total: 18.09 miles
Week 2 total: 19.57 miles
Week 1 total: 13.08

Grand total at the end of Week 3: 50.74 miles

Week 4 (April 8-14): 26.73
Week 5 (April 15-21): 22.17
Week 6 (April 22-28): 26.09

Total at the end of Week 6: 125.73 miles!!!

Wow! I’m impressed! The goal was to hit 100 miles and I managed to do it in a little over 5 weeks. I’ve definitely been enjoying this task and I plan to keep going!!!

Week-in-Review #2 – April 3 – April 9

Hey all!

Welcome to my second week-in-review. It hasn’t been the most interesting week to be honest. I have been suffering with a sinus infection/cold/flu/plague/something or other.

Monday left me cleaning the house because I needed to keep vertical in order to be able to breathe. Sitting or laying down (even with the lack of energy and miserableness I was feeling) wasn’t an option. I couldn’t breathe easily through my nose when I did. I felt much better on the move.. so I kept moving.

Tuesday I worked. I found it rather difficult to walk up the stairs. My legs felt really week and I came to the conclusion that I should NEED TO start exercising again. I felt so much better when I did. To be honest, that was basically the extent of my day.

Wednesday I worked again. It was the first time I was back for the teacher I had a replacement for during the Fall. It was a great day and I really enjoyed seeing them all again. I haven’t been back much because I have been subbing elsewhere as well. I had plans on going into town when I got home because I wanted to check out HMV for some Dvds. HMV has a closing sale right now as they are closing down in Canada. By the time I made it home I had all my energy gone and decided to stay in.

I didn’t work on Thursday but I was up and ready super early. I had energy and was ready to take on the day. I decided to head out to the mall like I had planned to (but didn’t do) on Wednesday. I treated myself to a Coconut Mocha Macciatio from Starbucks. This has quickly become my new favorite drink from there. From that I went to HMV and bought some goodies.


I picked up season 5 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer (my favorite show as a pre-teen/teenage), seasons 2-4 of Drop Dead Diva, The Giver, and The Night Before… all for under $30. I couldn’t turn this down. I initially went to look for the BTVS dvds I was missing to complete the series but was only able to find one. I also picked up a guitar shaped spatula and a few gifts for Christmas (a little early I know but amazing prices hahaha). I then ran some errands for my sister and brought coffee to the boyfriend before coming home. We had some visits from the Nephew that night to help him with a few things.

Friday brought me back to a school that I had only subbed in once before; for 2 hours a few Septembers back. It also brought my back to my love… Biology. I studied Biology in university and taught it about 5-6 years ago. I loved it. I only had to show some video clips in those classes but it brought me back to the beginning. Has much as I do love Science and teaching, I think becoming an IRT was the right move for me. Friday night we caught up on Riverdale and the new season of IZombie was put on Netflix and just chilled.

On Saturday we had planned on going to a Home Show and do some walking. However, the rain kept us from doing that. Instead we went to Coffee Matters and had a coffee. Then we checked out Funky Junk, a neat little store in my area. I initial went there to buy some bath bombs from St. John’s Soap Works.


I also discovered a neat paint that I am definitely going to look more into, and probably purchase, to redo my current bedroom set. It is in desperate need of painting and I feel like this would work so much better than any furniture paint I could buy at a hardware store. We then went to pick up a few things we needed for the week and some Easter treats for some people. The boyfriend ran off into the night to pretend to be a rockstar so he was pretty late getting home. So I spent the night watching 13 Reasons Why. When I first saw this circulating on line if seemed so familiar to me. Then I realized that I had randomly found the book at Value Village on one of my trips searching for books and read it.

So today, Sunday, I am still not feeling the best overall. However, I did get the rest of my cleaning done and cooked supper. I also finished up 13 Reasons Why. Excellent series!! Would definitely recommend. The daffodils I bought yesterday in support of the Canadian Cancer Society has bloomed. Aren’t they pretty!!??!!

Hey All!

Week three wasn’t the greatest at all. I have been miserable all week. I’m still not completely sure if I came down with something or just fighting a severe sinus infection.

Basically I have spent the week unable to breathe through my nose and feeling like my throat was closing in on itself. Pleasant, I know! But I kept fighting it and I had a few days of work on top of this. I kept trying to keep myself moving in order to get some steps in (and keep active).

With that being said, here’s the the miles for this week.

This weeks total:  18.09
Week 2 total: 19.57 miles
Week 1 total: 13.08 miles

Total miles to date: 50.74 miles



Not too bad overall! I didn’t pass last weeks total miles walked. However, 18.09 miles isn’t too bad considering the week I’ve had. I can’t wait to feel better and the weather to be nice so I can get outside more! Only 49.26 miles to go!!!

Week-in-Review #1

Hey all!

Hope you all have had a fabulous week.

At least much better than mine!

The week started off fairly good. I was in a good frame of mind and had the energy and motivation to get things done. I had a couple of days of work at a school I haven’t been to in over a month. It was great to get back there and see so many familiar faces.

The end of the week brought nothing but misery. I missed two calls for work because my cell phone decided it didn’t want to let messages through until it was too late. Then I was left with an abundance to get through and no work. I made sure to tell those people who tried to call the home phone if I don’t respond. Hopefully that fixed this problem.

Somewhere around Thursday night I started to feel achy and my throat was pretty sore. This lasted for a few days and drained all the energy I had from the beginning of the week. It also progressed into a head cold and as I type this my ears and nose are blocked and my throat is still sore. However, Life must go on.

It was announced on Friday that one of my favorite drummers was no longer a member of the band he has been with for the past 11 years. The circumstances around this announcement seem to be rather vague but we know he hasn’t been performing with them since mid last year due to an illness. We also knew that he was ready to return but didn’t. That’s when speculations started to arise through the fandom. I guess we will never know what really happened. However, I wish him the best of luck on future endeavors and will continue to follow to see what magic is creates next. After all, he will always hold a special place.

I finally got to see Beauty and the Beast last night. I really enjoyed the movie to be honest. It had been my favorite Disney movie growing up and it didn’t disappoint. There were a few moments that seemed a little over the top (hello.. Be Our Guest!) but for the most part it kept the simplicity that I loved. This is definitely a movie that I will watch again (and probably purchase when it is released to own).

A little bit later we are heading out to do our weekly grocery shopping and prep. I’m anticipating many shoppers as we are calling for yet another blizzard tonight into tomorrow. I am soooooooo over Winter and snow. But the icing on the cake is the freezing and rain that seems to come after all of the storms we’ve had lately. This just leaves a mess. *Sigh*

Week One – #walk100mileschallenge

Hey all!

So every Friday the participants of the #walk100mileschallenge have agreed to share their weekly progress.

And already I am a date late! It never fails. But I’m only a day and I’ve already added a reminder to my planner for next Friday. Yay for planners…. right?

So my progress?

I’m not impressed. To be honest I haven’t been feeling the best over the past few days. And the weather has been pretty nasty (thanks Shelia’s Brush!) so I’m stuck to walking indoors. I can’t wait until the snow melts, the sun shines, and we have some warm weather.

So how did I actually do?? I’ve been using my Fitbit to track my progress and according to the stats I walked 13.08 miles from Monday to Friday. I basically averaged about 3 miles a day.  I guess it is not the worst but I am hoping this coming week will be better.
